Introduction: Heterotopic ossification (HO) means deposition of bone within the soft tissue around peripheral joints, first described by Guy Patin in 1692. This may occurs in up to 50% of spinal cord injury (SCI) patients. HO begins at mean of 12 weeks after injury.
