Hypophosphatasia (HPP) is a rare disease characterized by low enzymatic activity of tissue-nonspecific alkaline phosphatase (TNSALP) resulting in an accumulation of its endogenous substrates like pyridoxal phosphate (PLP) and inorganic pyrophosphate (PPi).
